The Glimmerdark Masquerade Ball & MidWinter Revel

“O! the warmth! O! the hum! O! the colours in the dark!
O! the gauzy wings of golden honey-flies!
O! the music of their feet – of their dancing goblin feet!
O! the magic!”

Yes, the Faeries of Glimmerdark are throwing Wicked Faire’s VIP Ball and ALL are invited – Pirate, Steampunk, Geek, Fae, Goth, and all others. Dress in your formal best – for whoever and whatever you are – and come join us in a sparkling masquerade of dance and delight!  You do not need to be Fae; your VIP badge is your key to Fairyland!

The DJ music will be stellar, your hosts will enchant you, and you will want to dance all night!

Please DO wear your masques, and please DO have your best attire. Don’t be late – the Ball starts on time with a bang, and we want you there!

The one and only Mighty Mike Saga will be spinning ballroom – deancy classical, hot jazz, and a few swingin’ waltzes, all good for any style of dance (no training required; just move your body and join us!) – until midnight, then it’s a Dance Party for as long as people wantt to keep dancing.

DJs are unpredictable things, so we may have Bound poor Mr. Saga under a magical geas of servitude to play at our command.  I’d feel bad for him…but truth be told, he’s like me: he loves to bring the joy

Around 11pm, we’ll do a Promade, and both Celebrity Guests and the Fae Themselves will judge Best Suit, Best Dress, and Best Wild-Card Costume!

Aurelio Voltaire

Aurelio Voltaire is often described as a modern day renaissance man. He is a singer/ performer, creator of comic books, animation and toys.

An internationally touring musician, he is at the forefront of the Gothic, Steampunk and Dark Cabaret genres headlining some of the biggest horror, sci-fi and comic book conventions as well as Gothic and Steampunk festivals for nearly two decades. His music can best be described as a collection of murder ballads, tongue-in-cheek exercises in the macabre, with just enough bawdy songs about Star Trek and Star Wars to keep a convention audience rolling in the aisles. Many know him for his songs “Brains!” and “Land of the Dead” from the Cartoon Network show “The Grim Adventures of Billy And Mandy”.

Voltaire’s live shows, whether solo or with his skeletal orchestra, are full of stories and games. Many describe his shows as sitting around a fire while an old friend regales you with tales, presuming that old friend drinks a liter of rum a night, dates zombie prostitutes and wrestles Krakens.

Voltaire has been recording and touring for over 20 years. He’s released 13 full length CDs.

Current ticket prices extended – but not for long!

Great news!  We’ve pushed back our ticket pricing increase until January 3rd, 2018. That way, those of you who have a bit too much mead* on New Year’s Eve can get the cheaper price, regardless of any hangovers that may or may not happen!

* There’s no such thing as too much mead.

What Sharp Teeth: An Unconventional Fairy Tale

But somehow I never like Grandma’s house
As much as I love the dark wood…

Join us for an adventure in the dark and Freudian woods! “What Sharp Teeth” is a tale as twisted as the path to Grandmother’s house – and the Big Bad Wolf bit off more than he could chew when he encountered the bigger, badder Crocodile! The reptile’s rendezvous with Red Riding Hood unravels into a darkly humorous rock opera which both celebrates and sunders the magic of fairytales. It also has elements of Steampunk, Geek culture, and a pinch of Gothic darkness, and the unusual worlds we love at Just Magical Events.

While “What Sharp Teeth” has been performed by Jeff Mach as a one-man show, this is the first fully-staged version. The show is brought to you by many of the creative team behind 2016’s SPWF production of Absinthe Heroes. It’s chock full of surprises, plot twists, Easter eggs, and – just as things are starting to get seriously silly – it arcs into exhilarating drama and storytelling.
